Finding ME, Impacting WE

A 2-day retreat for mothers and daughters to find themselves and change the world.

Retreat has been postponed. Check back for the new dates.

Are you ready to own your power and help your daughter own hers?

Are you ready to get into action with the difference you are here to make?

Are you ready to create a deeper connection with your daughter?

There are too many women in our culture who are powerful and do not realize it. They are limited in their self-expression, influence and impact because of childhood wounds.

From an early age, as girls we begin to form false conclusions about ourselves and our worth. We receive messages --both spoken and unspoken -- in the media, from our parents and teachers and beyond.

In our teen years, we are desperately seeking approval, belonging and a sense of identity. It’s a time when we pull away from our parents as we seek to understand who we really are. (Usually with much trial and error and while making massive mistakes.)

Remember feeling like you didn’t fit in?

Like you weren’t good enough?

Constantly worried about what other people thought?

Maybe you still feel this way?

Fast forward to now. You have a daughter of your own. You may have years of personal growth under your belt. You’ve taken courses, read books, listened to podcasts and a lot more. And while you have probably come a long way, which is no small feat, you are aware there’s more growth to be had. You are proud of being a life-long learner who is continually growing and becoming more of who you are.

You get the value of self-discovery and you want that for your girl, right?

You want your daughter to have the benefit of…

  • Knowing she has value simply because of who she is
  • Understanding her unique strengths, gifts and values so she can share them in a positive way
  • Being seen and seeing herself as powerful, strong and capable
  • Having a safe space to explore her feelings and grow into her next level self
  • Connecting with other girls in a positive way
  • Being confident in who she is and her ability to contribute in a meaningful way
  • Sharing a life-enhancing experience with YOU which creates a deeper bond

Do any of these sound familiar?

  • You’re feeling disconnected from your daughter or fear that will happen, as she travels down her own path of self-discovery.
  • You have a pretty good relationship with your daughter, but are always looking for ways to deepen your bond.
  • You wish you could shorten her suffering curve or eliminate it all together so she doesn’t need to experience what you did.
  • You want to give her an advantage in jump-starting her personal growth and seeing herself as powerful, capable and worthy.

You are ready to do your own work alongside your daughter and GROW TOGETHER.

Not only that, you know you are here to make a difference and you are ready to finally do something about it so you can BE the example of PURPOSE IN ACTION for your kids… WITH your kids.

This groundbreaking retreat will transform your relationship to yourself and your relationship to the girl(s) in your life.

You and your girl(s) will leave filled with connection, love, inspiration and be IN action!

This retreat is a good fit for you if you are ready to:

  • Give your daughter the tools she needs to thrive as she learns to navigate the challenges of life
  • Deepen your connection and relationship with your girl so she feels safe to come to you as she faces tough situations, has relationship challenges, or needs advice
  • Model being the change you wish to see in the world so your children can see what’s possible for themselves
  • Discover what’s really going on in your girl's inner world so that you can support her in becoming her best self
  • Help your daughter celebrate her individuality and unique gifts she brings so she embraces her true purpose and feels empowered rather than not enough.
  • Bring the gift of mindfulness to yourself and your daughter to empower your inner peace and positivity (a skill everyone can use in these times!
  • Access your intuition to guide you without second-guessing yourself so that you know you are on the right path

How cool would it be to release limiting beliefs that have held you back from speaking your truth, showing up for yourself in an empowered way, and playing smaller than you know you are capable of?

You and your girl will experience breakthroughs together in a safe and supportive sisterhood, where you are not judged, put down or seen as anything less than what you’re meant to be.

I see a need for this type of sacred space in which to connect and grow, big time!

We are at a time when we have so many resources and tools available to us to break free from self-imposed limitations.

  • We are becoming more self-aware.
  • We are waking up to our own power.
  • We are beginning to change the world one woman at a time.

Why not give our daughters this huge advantage at an early age? Expose them to the tools and mindset necessary to be empowered women starting now!

What if she didn’t have to suffer the way you did? What if you and I could shorten the learning curve for her and equip her with the tools right now, to break free from self-imposed suffering?

I have 3 daughters. They are my inspiration for doing this retreat. I want them to understand their true worth. I want them to get in their bones how powerful they are. Their self-esteem matters and so does your daughter’s. And for that matter so does yours.

I didn’t always have high self-esteem like I do now. I suffered from “not-enough-ness” for much of my life. I lacked confidence, a sense of identity and any purpose. My family’s motto is “We are here to make a difference”, yet I had no idea how I would do that when I was younger.

When I was 13, my mom signed me up for a personal growth workshop which I didn’t get to complete. I’ll share more on that later. When I turned 40, I completed that workshop now called, the Landmark Forum. It was life changing.

Right out of college I worked doing teen pregnancy prevention in middle schools and puberty workshops for moms and daughters in elementary schools. I always knew I wanted to empower girls so that they would never have to feel the way I did as a kid. I was teased for being cross-eyed and you could say I was a bit bossy, which today is a big benefit, but at the time was not the popular way to be.

I became a life coach in 2003 and a mom in 2004. I worked with women preparing to give birth, as a doula, childbirth educator and pregnancy coach. After giving birth to my 2nd child, I led Personal Renewal Groups for moms, helping them re-connect to who they are and prioritize self-care. Eventually, I worked with mom entrepreneurs, because they are the ones to make the greatest difference in this world. I also understood the importance of a woman being able to stand on her own two feet financially. It’s a huge part of being empowered and entrepreneurship allows for that.

In 2013, I attended Landmark’s Self-expression and Leadership Course where we were asked to create a community project. I downloaded the name Finding ME, Impacting WE and found 5 other women I admired to collaborate with on creating a one day event for women.

Today, I am bringing my work full circle and have created a transformational retreat for moms and daughters under the name of Finding ME, Impacting WE.

The Powerful Contributors

This event is collaborative and will truly be magical because of the quality of women I have hand selected to co-create with.

They are simply amazing and so talented and I am super excited to share them with you!

Sylvia Poareo

Sylvia grew up in Southern California in various foster and relative homes. Despite her chaotic beginning, her personal connection to the divine and nature sustained and guided her.

Having experienced transformation with the Inner Bonding process, she was drawn to helping others heal. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Azusa Pacific University, a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare at UCLA, and became a certified spiritual counselor with the Association for the Integration of the Whole Person, founding the Naturally Conscious community.

For over 23 years, she has shared the power of healing by serving as a “midwife to the healing process.” She deeply enjoys supporting conscious and transformational healing as she integrates the powerful self-healing Inner Bonding process, TRE (Tension and Trauma Release Exercises), energy medicine, nature awareness and her indigenous healing practices into individual sessions, support groups, workshops and life changing retreats. Having recently become certified as a TRE facilitator, she is also highly committed to helping others understand (the often missing puzzle piece) the physiological roots of trauma and finally break free of entrenched limiting patterns. She is well known for her gentle, compassionate yet clear and effective, way of bringing these many elements together to support your highest healing.

When she became a mother, she also created Conscious Mothering Circles and support, as a perfect complement to leading edge parenting education. For over 12 years now, she has helped mothers heal the emotional challenges and intuitive disconnect that interfere with conscious parenting, by re-connecting women to their own inner wisdom and spiritual connection.

When not doing this work she loves, she deeply enjoys growing and playing with her family, writing, dancing, reading, suburban farming, traveling, taking action on important issues, and being present in each moment!

What Others Have to Say...

"I hosted a Mother-Daughter workshop and invited Justine to speak at the event. The topic was Finding Your Superpowers. Justine beautifully connects with Moms and Daughters in a very meaningful and authentic way. She helped every one of us see our strengths and value. We all wanted more! I highly recommend Justine as a speaker and workshop leader and look forward to hearing more from her."

- Jennifer Battaglia Founder of The Mom Daughter Connection

“I attended the first Finding ME, Impacting WE women’s empowerment event a few years ago and what I loved about it was the connections made with other women in the room. I connected and worked with almost every one of the speakers after the event, in one way or another. Justine was also my life coach for six months.

A few years later, I am now working with women in my community as I have now stepped into my power. Now that I have healed and only after focusing on my own journey, first and foremost, I’m ready to help others. Since I took Justine’s 90-day challenge, where we were invited to do something impactful for others 90 days after the event, I haven’t stopped growing and bringing others along with me. I enjoyed Justine’s Finding ME, Impacting WE event so much, that I attended again the following year and brought my friends along.

I highly recommend this (and any event Justine hosts) to women and young girls who are on a path of self-discovery and empowerment.”

- Graciela Sánchez Educator, Founder of AGAPE Center for Intentional and Miraculous Living (A.C.I.M. Living), Yoga Instructor, Reiki Practitioner, and Doula/Life Coach in training

She easily and masterfully guides her students and audiences into a rich understanding of their own strengths sharing practices they can easily put to use to reach greater confidence and self-love.

She is a woman who knows what it takes to transform, thrive and stand strong in her feminine creative power, the perfect reflection of a new paradigm of leadership."

 - Marsh Engle Founder of AMAZING WOMAN NATION, Visionary behind the creation of DEAR AMAZING DAUGHTER, a book that joins together the voices entrepreneurs, mentors, artists and changemakers in a collective intention to create a more empowered future for the next generation of amazing women.

We believe in making a difference for others.

Since we love women and girls and believe in the work of the Women’s Journey Foundation, a 501c3 that provides programs for girls and women’s self-esteem and honors the contributions of women historically and presently, a portion of the proceeds from this retreat will go to support their work.

You may have questions. Please see answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. If your question isn’t answered in the FAQ’s, please reach out to Justine@JustineArian.com and we’ll be happy to share more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What age group is this for?

A. It is for tweens, teens and older. The girls need to have a certain maturity level in order to do the personal development work and deep reflection at the retreat. Reach out if you aren’t sure if your daughter is ready yet. We can determine if this is the right time and retreat.

Q. I have done some personal development but my daughter hasn’t. How do I know if this is the right fit?

A. It is assumed that the adults will be more experienced and have more knowledge than the girls. The content is designed to be a good fit no matter where you are on the personal growth journey. The concepts will be basic enough for everyone to grasp, yet we will go deep on some of the topics and it will be a new and experiential process for everyone, regardless of prior knowledge or experience.

Q. I am a little nervous about being in a group and my daughter may be too. Are we going to be required to share? How much?

A. It’s understandable to be apprehensive about sharing in a group of people you don’t yet know. We are creating an environment for you to feel safe to share and explore. While you will never be required to share in the group, it is often where people have their biggest breakthroughs and get the most support, so it is strongly encouraged whenever there’s an opportunity.

Q. Do we have to commit to both days?

A. Yes. Day 2 builds on day 1. To get the full benefit of what is being offered, you will need to commit to being present for the full 2 days. If you know you aren’t able to attend the full 2 days, and can’t change your plans, then you may want to consider attending a future FMIW retreat if it’s offered again.

Q. Is this an overnight retreat? Are hotel accommodations included?

A. Hotel accommodations are NOT included. I highly recommend you rent a hotel room for at least Saturday night. We are creating a container at the retreat and going back home to your daily life will take you out of that container and may impact the experience and results you get from the retreat. In order to get the most from the weekend, I suggest you stay at the Doubletree hotel, or one nearby. I will share info. And room block rates once you have registered.

Q. I am an aunt, not a mom but would like to bring my niece. Is that ok?

A. Absolutely! This is for women and girls who care about deepening their bond with each other and deepening their sense of self. Aunts, grandmas, mentors and special friends are all welcome at this retreat.

Q. I would love to attend with my daughter but I don’t know if she will willingly come. Any suggestions for getting her interested in attending?

A. I can understand. I have 4 kids with 4 different personalities and they don’t always want what I want for them. I can suggest things I’ve tried and do that work for me.

  • Get excited. When YOU show excitement, they will absorb that and could possibly get interested in what you are so excited about. Have an “enrollment” conversation with your girl. Think about what new possibility you could create with her that would enroll her in the idea. What common aspect of the retreat, values you share, or ideas do you have in common with your daughter that would get you both interested, excited and committed.
  • Share WHY it’s important to you. Tell her how much you value your relationship and how special this time would be to create a deeper bond. Maybe you wished you had that with your own mother or maybe you did and you really want that with your daughter.
  • Enlist a friend. Perhaps your daughter will be more willing if one of her friends are attending too. See if you/she can find a mother and daughter pair to attend with.
  • Bribe her. I say this half-jokingly, but it has worked for me in the past. Maybe offer to do something she wants in exchange for doing something you want. This works really well for 2 of my children.

Q. Will meals be provided or where do we eat?

A. Lunch and snacks are included. For dinner you are on your own. There is a restaurant at the DoubleTree Hotel and there are many restaurants nearby. I will provide this info. upon registration.

Q. I’m not sure if the timing is right. Will you be offering this again?

A. Right now, I don’t know. This retreat was an inspired idea that I acted on. If I am inspired to do it again next year, I will but there is no guarantee. I suggest you attend this October if you have the feeling you want to be there but haven’t committed yet. You won’t regret it.
